15:00 - 17:30 Workshop F: Design And Evaluation Of Health
Information Systems From A Humancentered Perspective
(includes afternoon refreshments)
A current and significant challenge in the design and implementation of
health information technology (HIT) is to deal with the high failure rate of
HIT projects. Most of these failures are not due to flawed technology, but
rather due to the lack of systematic considerations of human and other
no technological issues in the design and implementation processes. Due
to the complexity and unique features of health care, human-centered
methods and techniques specifically developed for healthcare are
necessary for the successful development of health information systems.
Attend this workshop and learn how to:
- Increase efficiency and productivity
- Increase ease of use and ease of learning
- Increase user adoption, retention and satisfaction
- Decrease medical errors
- Decrease development time and cost, decrease support and training cost
